What are sexually transmitted diseases and infections?

STDs are sexually transmitted diseases, while STIs are sexually transmitted infections. They both spread from one person to another during vaginal, anal or oral sex. In some cases, symptoms do not appear immediately, and some people are asymptomatic. Without treatment, STDs and STIs can impact your health.
